Clean, friendly, but rundown hotel

Tired but clean hotel. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. The customer service was best thing about this hotel.

Old hotel one elevator to get up to 3rd floor lobby and room. Rooms need help to freshen and renew carpet, beds, linens, bathrooms, etc. also though much closer to Skyliner train.

Exceptional stay in Ueno

This place was fabulous, such a comfortable 3 night stay. Great location, friendly staff, very accommodating. Were able to check out late, leave our bags for several hours too.

On a main road so heard a lot of sirens, popped in the earplugs then all ok. The driers were 100 yen for 10 minutes only. Unclear if I could put 300 yen in at once for 30 minutes so has to go back. After 30 minutes, far from dry anyway. Ended up drying in my room.

Great location, comfortable, value for money and friendly staff

The location to Ueno station was a bonus, only 3 minutes walk to the train. The Hotel room was small but I'm only there to sleep so not really an issue. Shower/bathtub was clean and water temperature and pressure was great. The room had aircon, a small fridge and TV, hairdryer and shower products supplied (no need to bring your own). Slippers, toothbrush and paste, a robe and other personal requirements are available at reception as you need them. I was there for 7 nights and had no problem with the room not being cleaned during my stay. I don't live like a pig so didn't need someone in the room everyday cleaning up after me, I appreciated the privacy of knowing no one was going into my room. Having said that, I placed my rubbish and towels outside my room door for pickup and picked up fresh towels and rubbish bags at reception as required. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, their English is great and will help with any questions you may have about your stay. The Hotel was around the corner from a Family Mart convenience store which was really handy for purchasing food, snacks, beer, drinks etc. There is a great place to eat two doors down to the left for Tonkatsu, a great set menu for a good price and a great tasting perfectly cooked pork cutlet, miso soup, rice and accompaniments. The hotel was a 10 min walk to Kappabashi (Kitchen town) known for anything to do with cooking, four good reputable Japanese Knife Shops, a plastic food model shop and everything in between for your kitchen needs. They have items you didn't know you needed for the kitchen until you see them. Fabric town in Nippori is only two stops away on the Yamanote line if you are interested in Japanese fabric and sewing accessories. The location of the Hotel to the Yamanote train line makes for easy travelling to all the popular areas in Tokyo city. It's a block behind the train line so you don't hear any train noise at all.

Would recommend and stay again. Suite was great.

Good location. Suite was very spacious. Good shower / bathroom. Soft pillow. Lovely staff.

Very Good

It's very close to everything that u need Supermarket is Takeya , Dobqi and ameyoko just 5-8 minutes walk . Close to all kind of transpotation , restuarant and convenient store . The staff are so nice even the room are so small but it is Tokyo .We booked the room size 19 m but 2 big luggages is fine (32" per luggage )

Just no space for sitting.

Fantastic location! convenient and safe.

The location is perfect for exploring the area. Ueno Station is one of the main stations in Tokyo so its pretty easy to get from there to anywhere else. There is an entrance to the station behind the building, but also if you walk on the same street, there is another entrance. A healthy walk to temples/the park/other stations and we found it a fantastic base to get around Tokyo. Our bags got delayed with luggage transfer and the staff were so helpful and arranged for them to be delivered into our room when they arrived/while we were out. There is so many great food and dining options downstairs and a 7/11 downstairs which was very handy. The hotel also has washing/drying facilities which were super handy. All the staff were very friendly.

I loved the toiletries available in the reception area, but they needed more options. very limited with hair/face things compared to some other places.

Not as comfortable as we wanted.

Locations was great. Must being Ueno Station.

Hotel d isn’t come in everyday to clean the room. practically no room service but we expected it. need to check on the pillow cases because we were given a mouldy one. there were lots of dust under the bed. because tis Summer, the sun comes out 5am. the room curtain blinds ha be no blackout curtains. So at 5am or earlier, our room was super bright. can’t sleep. it will be good to install some blackout curtains.

Spacious and comfortable but make sure to ask for a room on an higher floor

Spacious room with a big desk and comfortable bed. The bathroom has a really big door that gives a feel of an open space and makes the room feel bigger. Helpful staff, they allow me to check in early and to keep my luggage after checkout. Also English speaking, although I had all of my interaction with them in Japanese. Close to JR Ueno and Keisei Ueno for the skyliner to Narita Airport.

The hotel rooms are all facing Tokyo route 1, which is a big elevated double carriage highway. I was on the 4th flow which was basically as the same level of the elevated road. It’s a bit noisy, especially at night. I would strongly recommend everyone that plans to stay here for a few nights to ask for a room at an high floor, like 9 or 10.
